Last sunday I visited the 'Sixties' exhibition in the Gemeentemuseum in The Hague. Although I found the exhibition itself rather disappointing (too many paintings, not enough other disciplines) the 1935 museum by architect H.P. Berlage remains a beautiful building where you can roam around for hours and discover new things every time. Here are some pictures of tilework you might encounter. The last picture was taken in one of the educational "Wonderkamers'. The object is simply meant to explain how the staircase was made, but because of its constructive beauty it's almost a work of art in itself.
