Yesterday afternoon I was supposed to host a workshop in Interior Design for a team of eight people of the Boston Consulting Group, as a kick-off for their removal to a new building in Amsterdam. I had prepared myself for a 45 minute drive. But the weathergods decided different. Hardly on my way it started snowing heavily and by the time I reached The Hague the road was extremely slippery. For the next two hours the only thing I could do was to move at a walking-pace in an enormous row of meandering cars while trying not to slide against the car in front of me. In the meantime on the other lane towtrucks where driving to and fro and my initially good temper dropped to below zero. Unfortunately I never reached Amsterdam, but I comfort myself with the thought that I finally managed to see for real a 17th winter landscape by Jacob van Ruisdael. Windmills and all!
